John Wetton

John Wetton, born on June twelfth, nineteen forty-nine, was a distinguished English musician, celebrated for his exceptional talents as a guitarist, singer, composer, and songwriter. Wetton's musical journey began in earnest in nineteen seventy-one when he briefly joined the rock band Family. However, it was his tenure with King Crimson starting in nineteen seventy-two that truly showcased his abilities. Following the band's dissolution in nineteen seventy-four, he explored various musical avenues, contributing to bands such as Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, U.K., and Wishbone Ash over the next several years.

In nineteen eighty-one, Wetton co-founded the supergroup Asia, where he served as the lead vocalist and principal songwriter. Their self-titled debut album, released in nineteen eighty-two, achieved remarkable success, selling ten million copies worldwide and earning the distinction of being Billboard magazine's number one album of that year.
