Johnny Kelly

Johnny Kelly, born on March ninth, nineteen sixty-eight, is a distinguished American drummer renowned for his contributions to the gothic metal scene. He gained prominence as the former drummer of Type O Negative, a band he joined in nineteen ninety-three. Kelly's tenure with the group lasted until the untimely passing of frontman Peter Steele in two thousand ten, marking a significant chapter in his musical journey.

Following his time with Type O Negative, Kelly continued to make waves in the metal genre. He currently serves as the drummer for Silvertomb, a doom metal band that showcases his evolving musical style. Additionally, he co-founded Seventh Void, another doom metal project that further solidified his reputation in the heavy music community.

Throughout his career, Kelly has collaborated with fellow musicians, including Kenny Hickey, a close friend and guitarist from Type O Negative. This partnership has led to various musical endeavors, including Kelly's role as an occasional touring drummer for the heavy metal band Danzig and his involvement with the US metal band Patriarchs in Black.
