Jonathan Walters, born on September 20, 1983, is a former professional footballer who made his mark as a forward and is currently the sporting director of Stoke City. His journey in football began at Blackburn Rovers, where he struggled to secure a place in the first team, leading him to join Bolton Wanderers. Walters' early career saw him loaned out to Hull City, Crewe Alexandra, and Barnsley, before making a permanent move to Hull.

After stints with Wrexham and Chester City, Walters found his footing at Ipswich Town, where he played for three years. In addition to his club success, Walters was a vital part of the Republic of Ireland national team, scoring five goals during the successful UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying campaign. His contributions were recognized when he received the FAI Senior International Player of the Year award in 2015.
