Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Jordan Hubbard

Jordan K. Hubbard, born on April 8, 1963, is a prominent American figure in the realm of open source software development. He is best known for his contributions to various software projects, including the Ardent Window Manager, and for co-founding the FreeBSD project in 1993 alongside Nate Williams and Rodney W. Grimes. His early work laid the foundation for the FreeBSD Ports collection, package management system, and sysinstall, which have become integral to the FreeBSD operating system.

In July 2001, Hubbard took on a significant role at Apple Computer as the manager of the BSD technology group. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in the creation of MacPorts, a widely used package management system for macOS. By 2005, he had advanced to the position of Director of UNIX Technology, and in October 2007, he was promoted to Director of Engineering of Unix Technologies, a role he held until June 2013.

After leaving Apple, Hubbard became the Chief Technology Officer at iXsystems on July 15, 2013, where he also led the FreeNAS open source project. His career took another turn in March 2017 when he announced his transition to TwoPoreGuys, a biotechnology company, as Vice President of Engineering. From January 2019 to April 2020, he was part of the Engineering Leadership team at Uber, and as of April 2020, he serves as Senior Director for GPU Compute Software at Nvidia.
