Jorge Campos

Jorge Campos, born on October fifteenth, nineteen sixty-six, is a distinguished Mexican professional football coach and player, renowned for his role as a goalkeeper with Tercera Federación – Group 7 club México FC. His career flourished during the 1990s and early 2000s, where he became a notable figure in Mexican football.

Campos was celebrated for his eccentric playing style, often stepping outside the penalty area to function as a sweeper-keeper. His acrobatic and flamboyant goalkeeping, paired with his vibrant, self-designed kits, made him a fan favorite. Despite his shorter stature, he was able to excel in the position due to his remarkable leaping ability, athleticism, and speed when rushing off his line, as well as his skill in organizing his defense.

In addition to his goalkeeping prowess, Campos showcased versatility rarely seen in football. He often transitioned from goalkeeper to striker during matches, demonstrating his adaptability on the field. Over the course of his career, he scored a total of thirty-five goals, with all but one of those goals netted while playing for UNAM.
