José Aldo

José Aldo, born on September ninth, nineteen eighty-six, is a Brazilian former professional mixed martial artist renowned for his exceptional skills in the Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He made history as the inaugural and longest-reigning UFC Featherweight Champion, a title he secured following the merger of UFC and World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC). Aldo also held the title of interim UFC Featherweight Champion and was the fourth and final WEC Featherweight Champion.

Throughout his illustrious career, Aldo has been celebrated as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, particularly in the featherweight category. His remarkable tenure included seven successful defenses of his UFC title and two defenses of his WEC title, solidifying his legacy in the sport.

After experiencing his first defeat in mixed martial arts in November two thousand five, Aldo embarked on an extraordinary journey, remaining undefeated for over a decade. This impressive streak included eighteen consecutive victories, which came to an end at UFC one hundred ninety-four in December two thousand fifteen when he faced Conor McGregor.

Aldo's accolades include being named Sherdog's Fighter of the Year in two thousand nine, and in April two thousand seventeen, he was recognized in Sherdog's pound-for-pound rankings as the greatest featherweight in mixed martial arts history.
