Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of José María López

José María López, born on April twenty-sixth, nineteen eighty-three, is a distinguished Argentine racing automobile driver currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Akkodis ASP. His remarkable career is highlighted by his achievements as a three-time World Touring Champion with Citroën, clinching titles in two thousand fourteen, two thousand fifteen, and two thousand sixteen.

In addition to his touring car success, López has made a significant mark in endurance racing, becoming a two-time World Endurance Champion with Toyota Gazoo Racing in two thousand twenty and two thousand twenty-one. Notably, in two thousand twenty-one, he became the second Argentine driver to win the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, following in the footsteps of José Froilán González, who achieved this feat in nineteen fifty-four.

López's racing journey began in the two thousand six GP2 Series, where he competed for the Super Nova team, as well as for DAMS and CMS in Formula 3000. He also served as a test driver for Renault F1, and although he was set to make his Formula One debut in two thousand ten with the US F1 Team, the team's closure prevented him from racing.

His career took a pivotal turn on December sixteenth, two thousand thirteen, when he joined the Citroën Total WTCC team for the two thousand fourteen World Touring Car Championship season. That year, he dominated the competition, winning ten races and securing his first World Touring Car Championship title. He repeated this success in the following years, winning another ten races in two thousand fifteen and retaining his title in two thousand sixteen with eight victories.
