Joselu

José Luis Mato Sanmartín, widely known as Joselu, was born on March 27, 1990, in Spain. He is a professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Al-Gharafa in the Qatar Stars League. Joselu's football journey began at Celta Vigo, where he showcased his talent before making a significant move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009.

During his time with Real Madrid, Joselu made a name for himself as a prolific goalscorer, netting forty goals in seventy-two appearances for the B-team. However, he faced challenges in breaking into the first team, leading to his transfer to TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga in August 2012. His career continued to flourish with a loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, followed by a permanent move to Hannover 96 in June 2014.

In 2015, Joselu transitioned to the Premier League, signing with Stoke City for a fee of five million seven hundred fifty thousand pounds. After two seasons, he joined Newcastle United for five million pounds, before moving to Alavés. His journey took him to Espanyol, and in the 2023–24 season, he returned to Real Madrid on loan, where he celebrated winning the UEFA Champions League.

On the international stage, Joselu has represented Spain at various youth levels and made his senior debut in 2023. He was part of the squad that triumphed in the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League and is set to compete in UEFA Euro 2024.
