Joseph Arthur Ankrah

Joseph Arthur Ankrah, born on August eighteenth, nineteen fifteen, was a prominent Ghanaian military figure and politician who played a pivotal role in the country's history. He became the second head of state of Ghana, serving from nineteen sixty-six to nineteen sixty-nine as the chairman of the National Liberation Council. His leadership marked a significant transition in Ghana's governance, as he was the nation's first military head of state.

Before ascending to the presidency, Ankrah was appointed the inaugural commander of the Ghana Army in nineteen sixty-one, laying the groundwork for the military's structure and operations. His military career was characterized by a commitment to national service and a vision for Ghana's future.

In addition to his military and political roles, Ankrah also held the esteemed position of the fourth chairperson of the Organisation of African Unity from February twenty-four to November fifth, nineteen sixty-six.
