Joseph E. Davies

Davies is perhaps best known for his tenure as the second-ever United States Ambassador to the Soviet Union from nineteen thirty-six to nineteen thirty-eight. His experiences during this time were chronicled in his book, 'Mission to Moscow,' which gained further recognition through its film adaptation, elevating his profile significantly.

Following his service in the USSR, Davies continued to serve his country as the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg.
