His political career took off when he was elected as a Conservative representative for Chambly—Verchères in the House of Commons of Canada, serving from nineteen eleven to nineteen seventeen. Following this, he transitioned to the Senate of Canada, where he represented the Repentigny division from nineteen twenty-three until nineteen forty-two, showcasing his dedication to public service.

In nineteen ten, Rainville married Ferréola Gendreau, and together they contributed to their community. His leadership skills were recognized in nineteen thirty when he was appointed president of the Commission of the Port of Montreal. Rainville's contributions to society were further acknowledged in nineteen thirty-four when he was named a Chevalier in the French Légion d'honneur.
