Joseph Vendryes

Joseph Vendryes, born on January thirteenth, eighteen seventy-five, was a distinguished French linguist and Celticist whose contributions to the field of Celtic studies are widely recognized. He honed his expertise under the guidance of the esteemed Antoine Meillet, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career.

As the chairman of Celtic languages and literature at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, Vendryes played a pivotal role in advancing the study of Celtic languages.
