He gained widespread acclaim as the creator of iconic television series such as the supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which aired from nineteen ninety-seven to two thousand three, and its spinoff Angel, running from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand four. Whedon also crafted the short-lived space Western Firefly in two thousand two and the Internet musical miniseries Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog in two thousand eight.
