Józef Grudzień

Józef Grudzień, born on April 1, 1939, in Piasek Wielki, Poland, is celebrated as one of the country's most accomplished boxers. His journey in the sport began in a small town near Busko-Zdrój, where he honed his skills and developed a passion for boxing that would lead him to international fame.

Grudzień's remarkable talent was showcased on the world stage when he competed in the Olympic Games. He achieved a stunning victory, securing a gold medal in the Lightweight division at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. His prowess continued to shine as he earned a silver medal at the Mexico City Olympics in 1968, solidifying his status as a top contender in the sport.

In addition to his Olympic success, Grudzień also made his mark at the European Amateur Boxing Championships. He claimed a silver medal in East Berlin in 1965, followed by a triumphant gold medal in Rome in 1967, further demonstrating his exceptional skills and dedication to boxing.
