Jozef Vengloš

Jozef Vengloš, born on February eighteenth, nineteen thirty-six, is a distinguished Slovak figure in the world of football, both as a player and a manager. His playing career was marked by over two hundred appearances in the Czechoslovak First League, where he notably clinched the championship title with Slovan Bratislava in nineteen fifty-five.

Transitioning from player to coach, Vengloš made significant contributions to football management on a global scale. He had the honor of leading the Czechoslovak national team in two FIFA World Cups and at UEFA Euro nineteen eighty, where his team achieved a commendable third-place finish.

In a groundbreaking move, he became the first individual born outside the British Isles to manage a top-flight English club when he took the helm at Aston Villa in nineteen ninety.
