József Antall

József Tihamér Antall, Jr. was born on April 8, 1932, in Hungary. He was a multifaceted individual, excelling as a teacher, librarian, historian, and politician. His academic background laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors in public service and governance.

Antall's political career took a significant turn when he became the leader of the Hungarian Democratic Forum in 1989. His leadership was pivotal during a transformative period in Hungary's history, as the nation transitioned towards democracy following decades of communist rule.

In May 1990, Antall was elected as the first democratically elected prime minister of Hungary. His tenure was marked by efforts to stabilize the country and implement reforms that would shape the future of Hungarian society. He served in this capacity until his untimely death on December 12, 1993.
