As the second daughter and fifth child of the esteemed Germanicus and Agrippina the Elder, she was one of the few siblings to survive infancy, marking her as a significant member of her lineage.

Her close relationship with her brother, Emperor Caligula, defined much of her legacy. Caligula held Julia in high regard, and her untimely death deeply affected him.
