Juliet Cuthbert

Juliet Cuthbert, born on April ninth, nineteen sixty-four, is a distinguished Jamaican politician and a retired track and field sprinter. Renowned for her prowess in the 100 metres and 200 metres events, Cuthbert-Flynn showcased her athletic talent on the world stage by competing in four Olympic Games. Her remarkable performance at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics earned her two silver medals, solidifying her legacy in the realm of athletics.

Transitioning from sports to politics, Cuthbert has made significant strides as a member of the Jamaica Labour Party. She successfully contested the St. Andrew West Rural constituency, defeating the People's National Party candidate Hugh Buchanan in the general elections held on February twenty-fifth, two thousand sixteen. Her political career continued to flourish as she secured a second term by overcoming the People's National Party's Krystal Tomlinson in the September third, two thousand twenty General Election.

Following her reelection, Cuthbert was appointed as the State Minister in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, a role she embraced under the leadership of Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
