Throughout his playing days, Zdovc was recognized for his exceptional talent, earning a spot on the FIBA European Selection three times, specifically in the years nineteen ninety and nineteen ninety-one, and was also selected as a FIBA EuroStar in nineteen ninety-six. He proudly represented both the senior Yugoslav national team and the senior Slovenian national team, showcasing his abilities on an international stage.

In recognition of his contributions to the sport, Zdovc was inducted into the Slovenian Athletes Hall of Fame in two thousand fifteen and later into the FIBA Hall of Fame in two thousand twenty.
