K. R. Meera

K. R. Meera, born on February nineteenth, nineteen seventy, is a distinguished Indian author and journalist renowned for her contributions to Malayalam literature. Hailing from Sasthamkotta in the Kollam district of Kerala, she began her career in journalism with Malayala Manorama. However, her passion for writing led her to resign from her journalistic role to focus on her literary pursuits.

Meera embarked on her writing journey in two thousand one, and her debut short story collection, 'Ormayude Njarambu', was published the following year. Since then, she has enriched the literary landscape with five collections of short stories, two novellas, five novels, and two children's books, showcasing her versatility and creativity.

Her literary prowess has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in two thousand nine for her short story 'Ave Maria'. Her novel 'Aarachaar', published in two thousand twelve by DC Books, garnered multiple accolades, including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in two thousand thirteen, the Odakkuzhal Award in two thousand thirteen, the Vayalar Award in two thousand fourteen, and the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in two thousand fifteen. Additionally, it was shortlisted for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature in two thousand sixteen.
