Renowned for her exceptional vocal talent, Chithra has earned the title of the Golden Voice of India, a distinction awarded to her by the Royal Albert Hall in London in two thousand one. Her contributions to Indian cinema have also been recognized by The Times Group, which honored her as the Melody Queen of Indian Cinema in two thousand sixteen. Affectionately known by various titles across regions, she is celebrated as Piya Basanti in North India, Vanambadi in Kerala, and Chinna Kuyil in Tamil Nadu, among others.
