Kai-Fu Lee

Kai-Fu Lee, born on December third, nineteen sixty-one, is a prominent Taiwanese computer scientist, entrepreneur, and author. He has made significant contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and technology, establishing himself as a leading figure in the industry.

From nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand, Lee served as the founding director of Microsoft Research China, which later became known as Microsoft Research Asia. His leadership in this role laid the groundwork for numerous advancements in technology. Following this, he took on the role of president of Google China from two thousand five to two thousand nine, further solidifying his influence in the tech world.

In two thousand nine, Lee founded Innovation Works, a venture capital firm that was later renamed Sinovation Ventures, focusing on nurturing Chinese startups. In two thousand twenty-three, he took another significant step by founding 01.AI, a company dedicated to artificial intelligence in China.

As an author, Lee has penned notable works including 'AI Superpowers' in two thousand eighteen and 'AI 2041,' co-authored with Chen Qiufan in two thousand twenty-one. His expertise has also led him to serve as co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Council, and he was recognized in TIME's two thousand twenty-three list of the one hundred most influential people in AI.
