Kai Havertz, born on June 11, 1999, is a prominent German professional footballer who currently plays as a forward or attacking midfielder for Premier League club Arsenal and the Germany national team. His journey in football began at Bayer Leverkusen, where he graduated from the youth academy in 2016 and made his senior debut the same year, becoming the club's youngest-ever debutant in the Bundesliga.
Havertz quickly made a name for himself, setting records as the youngest player to reach fifty and one hundred league appearances in the German top flight. His remarkable performances caught the attention of several European clubs, leading to his transfer to Chelsea in 2020 for a fee of seventy-three point four million euros, making him the club's second-most expensive signing at that time.
During his tenure at Chelsea, Havertz achieved significant success, winning the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League, the 2021 UEFA Super Cup, and the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup, notably scoring the decisive goals in both the Champions League and Club World Cup finals. In June 2023, he made a move to Arsenal for a reported fee of sixty-five million pounds.
On the international stage, Havertz has represented Germany at various youth levels before making his senior debut in September 2018, becoming the first player born in 1999 to don the national team jersey. He has participated in two UEFA European Championships (2020 and 2024) and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring two goals in each tournament he has played in.
