Kailash Purryag

Kailash Purryag, born on December twelfth, nineteen forty-seven, is a prominent figure in Mauritian politics, having served as the fifth president of Mauritius from July two thousand twelve to May two thousand fifteen. His election to the presidency came after a distinguished career in public service, where he was recognized for his leadership and dedication to the nation.

Purryag's political journey began at a young age in nineteen seventy-six, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to serving the people of Mauritius. Before ascending to the presidency, he held various significant roles, including Member of Parliament, Minister, and Speaker of the National Assembly.
