Kallistos Ware

Kallistos Ware, born on September eleventh, nineteen thirty-four, is a distinguished figure in the Eastern Orthodox Church, recognized for his profound contributions as a bishop, theologian, and writer. His journey in the ecclesiastical realm began with his ordination as an Eastern Orthodox priest, leading him to become one of the most prominent modern hierarchs in the faith.

In nineteen eighty-two, he was appointed to the titular bishopric of Diokleia in Phrygia, a role that was elevated to a titular metropolitan bishopric in two thousand seven under the auspices of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. His leadership and theological insights have left an indelible mark on the church and its followers.

Ware's academic pursuits were equally impressive; from nineteen sixty-six to two thousand one, he served as the Spalding Lecturer of Eastern Orthodox Studies at the University of Oxford.
