Kareem Streete-Thompson

Kareem Streete-Thompson, born on March 30, 1973, in Ithaca, New York, is a distinguished Caymanian-American athlete known for his prowess in the long jump and the 100 metres. Although he entered the world in the United States, his formative years were spent in the Cayman Islands, where he lived until the age of eighteen. This unique background has shaped his athletic journey, allowing him to represent both the Cayman Islands and the United States throughout his career.

Streete-Thompson made a significant mark in collegiate athletics while competing for the Rice Owls track and field program, where he clinched two NCAA titles in the long jump. His exceptional talent was recognized early on, as he was awarded the prestigious Austin Sealy Trophy for being the most outstanding athlete at the CARIFTA Games in both nineteen eighty-nine and nineteen ninety.

His Olympic journey culminated at the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he showcased his skills in the 100 metres. He achieved a commendable second place in the heat, recording a season's best time, but faced challenges in the subsequent rounds, finishing fifth in the second round.
