Karel Nováček, born on March 30, 1965, in Prostějov, Czechoslovakia, is a retired Czech tennis player who once ranked among the top ten in the world. His illustrious career saw him clinch thirteen singles titles and six doubles titles, with his highest singles ranking reaching World No. 8 on November 18, 1991.

Nováček's most notable Grand Slam performance occurred at the 1994 US Open, where he showcased his talent by defeating several formidable opponents, including Alexander Vladimirovich Volkov and Andriy Medvedev, before ultimately falling to Michael Stich in the semifinals.

In 1997, his career faced a significant setback when he was suspended for three months due to a failed drug test at the 1995 French Open, resulting in a forfeiture of one hundred eighty-five thousand seven hundred sixty-five dollars. After spending two decades in Boca Raton, Florida, Nováček returned to the Czech Republic. He married Maya Nováček in 1990, and by 2002, the couple had three children. Their daughter Anika, at just ten years old, was already making waves in the tennis world, winning several tournaments and showing great promise.
