Karim Findi, born on February twenty-second, nineteen forty-six, is a distinguished Kurdish writer and journalist whose contributions span various fields including politics, geography, language, literature, and history. A graduate of the University of Mosul's College of Arts, he completed his studies in the English Department in nineteen seventy-four.
Throughout his career, Findi has authored numerous books in multiple languages, including English, Kurdish, and Arabic, showcasing his versatility and commitment to cultural discourse. His literary works reflect a deep understanding of the complexities of Kurdish identity and the socio-political landscape of the region.
In addition to his writing, Findi played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, advocating for the rights and recognition of journalists in the region. His editorial leadership was evident when he served as editor-in-chief of the magazine Karwan in nineteen ninety-seven, a publication issued by the Ministry of Culture.
Findi's influence extended to the Karwan Academic magazine, where he held the position of secretary, further contributing to the intellectual landscape of the Kurdistan Region. Notably, he was the founding editor of Dijla magazine, which was groundbreaking as the first publication in a roman-alphabet language issued by the Kurdistan Ministry of Culture, marking a significant milestone in Kurdish literature.
