Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Karl Darlow

Karl Darlow, born on October 8, 1990, is a professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Leeds United and the Wales national team. Darlow's football journey began in the academies of Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, where he was promoted to the first team in 2010.

After four seasons with Nottingham Forest, Darlow made a significant move to Newcastle United in August 2014. However, he was immediately loaned back to Forest for the remainder of that season. Throughout his career at Newcastle, he also had loan spells with Newport County and Walsall, showcasing his skills and gaining valuable experience.

In July 2023, Darlow transitioned to Leeds United, marking the end of a nine-year tenure with Newcastle. Despite facing competition from Illan Meslier for the starting position, he managed to secure a first-choice spot in mid-2025, demonstrating his resilience and determination.

Notably, Darlow is the grandson of Ken Leek, a former Wales international forward who was part of the Welsh squad for the 1958 World Cup. This heritage allowed Darlow to be eligible to represent both England and Wales. Although he initially aspired to play for England, he had not received any call-ups. In September 2024, he made the pivotal decision to switch his allegiance to Wales, earning his first call-up and debut shortly thereafter.
