Karl Wilhelm Feuerbach

He was the son of the esteemed legal scholar Paul Johann Anselm Ritter von Feuerbach and the brother of the renowned philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach. At the young age of twenty-two, Feuerbach earned his doctorate and soon after took on the role of a professor of mathematics at the Gymnasium in Erlangen. His early career was marked by a passion for teaching and a commitment to advancing mathematical knowledge.

In eighteen hundred twenty-two, Feuerbach authored a notable work on mathematics, which primarily gained recognition for introducing a significant theorem related to the nine-point circle, now famously known as Feuerbach's theorem. This theorem has become a fundamental concept in geometry.

Five years later, in eighteen hundred twenty-seven, he made another groundbreaking contribution by independently introducing homogeneous coordinates, a concept that would later be pivotal in the field of projective geometry, paralleling the work of the mathematician Möbius.
