Karolina Gočeva

Karolina Gočeva, born on April 28, 1980, is a celebrated Macedonian singer who began her musical journey at a young age. Her career took off in 1991 with a performance at a local children's show, showcasing her remarkable talent. By 1992, she had released her first children's album, 'Mamo, pušti me' (English: 'Mom, let me go'), marking the beginning of her impressive discography.

In 2000, Gočeva signed with Avalon Production, which led to the release of her debut studio album, 'Jas Imam Pesna.' This album featured the hit song 'Nemir,' a collaboration with the late Toše Proeski. Over the years, she released several albums, including 'Zošto Sonot Ima Kraj,' 'Znaeš Kolku Vredam,' and 'Vo Zaborav,' which solidified her presence in the pop, R&B, and rock genres.

As her career evolved, Gočeva began to incorporate elements of traditional Macedonian music and jazz into her work. Albums such as 'Makedonsko Devojče' (2008) and 'Izvor' (2018) received widespread acclaim, leading to sold-out concerts across North Macedonia, Serbia, and Bulgaria. Her latest album, 'Pesni za Ljubov i Kopnež,' was released on December 24, 2022, with a follow-up studio album expected at the end of 2024.

Gočeva has represented Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest twice, in 2002 and 2007, achieving respectable rankings. Known as the 'Macedonian pop princess/queen,' she has garnered numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. Her music, primarily in Macedonian, has also reached audiences in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia, thanks to her records in Serbian and English.

Beyond her musical achievements, Gočeva is recognized for her casual fashion style, often collaborating with designer Caci Pakoska. She is also an advocate for various social causes, including campaigns against drug use, uterine cancer, and gender-related violence.
