Kashibai, born in the year seventeen hundred and three, was a prominent aristocrat in the Maratha Empire. She was married to Bajirao I, the fourth Chhatrapati of the Maratha dynasty, and together they had four children, including the notable Balaji Baji Rao and Ragunath Rao.
Following the death of Bajirao in seventeen forty, Kashibai played a significant role in the political landscape of the empire. Her son Balaji succeeded his father as Peshwa, continuing the legacy of leadership within the Maratha realm.
In addition to her own children, Kashibai took on the responsibility of fostering her step-son, Shamsher Bahadur, whose mother was Bajirao's second wife, Mastani. This act of nurturing further solidified her influence and importance within the royal family.
