Kateryna Handziuk

Kateryna Handziuk, born on June seventeenth, nineteen eighty-five, was a prominent Ukrainian politician, activist, and human rights defender. Renowned for her unwavering commitment to civil rights and anti-corruption efforts, she dedicated her life to exposing corruption in her hometown of Kherson.

Her activism was marked by a fearless approach to challenging the status quo, which ultimately led to her tragic fate. On July thirty-first, two thousand eighteen, Kateryna was brutally attacked with sulphuric acid, an act that shocked the nation and highlighted the dangers faced by those who stand against corruption.

Despite her severe injuries, Kateryna's spirit remained unbroken until her untimely death on November fourth, two thousand eighteen. Her legacy continues to inspire many in Ukraine and beyond, as her fight for justice and transparency resonates in ongoing efforts to combat corruption.
