Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Katharine Ross

Katharine Ross, born on January twenty-ninth, nineteen forty, is a retired American actress celebrated for her remarkable contributions to film, television, and stage. An alumna of the Actor's Workshop, she made her television debut in nineteen sixty-two and quickly transitioned to film, debuting in the Civil War drama Shenandoah in nineteen sixty-five. Her early career included supporting roles in Mister Buddwing and The Singing Nun, but it was her performance in Curtis Harrington's thriller Games in nineteen sixty-seven that began to establish her as a prominent figure in Hollywood.

Ross gained significant acclaim for her portrayal of Elaine Robinson in Mike Nichols' iconic comedy-drama The Graduate, released in nineteen sixty-seven. This role earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, a BAFTA nomination, and a Golden Globe win for New Star of the Year. She further solidified her status as a leading actress with her performances in two notable Westerns in nineteen sixty-nine: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here, both of which garnered her the BAFTA Award for Best Actress.

In the nineteen seventies, Ross starred in the horror film The Stepford Wives, winning the Saturn Award for Best Actress, and received her second Golden Globe for her role in the drama Voyage of the Damned. Her diverse filmography during this decade also included appearances in The Swarm, The Legacy, and The Final Countdown. The eighties saw her primarily in made-for-TV films, including Murder in Texas and The Shadow Riders, and she starred in the network series The Colbys from nineteen eighty-five to nineteen eighty-seven.

After spending much of the nineties in semi-retirement, Ross made a notable return to film with a supporting role in Richard Kelly's cult classic Donnie Darko in two thousand one. She continued to engage with audiences by providing a voice role in the animated series American Dad! in two thousand sixteen and starred in the comedy-drama The Hero in two thousand seventeen, alongside her husband, Sam Elliott.
