She gained prominence through her work in iconic sketch shows such as French and Saunders, Harry Enfield's Television Programme, and Harry Enfield & Chums. Burke's memorable portrayal of Magda in the beloved BBC sitcom Absolutely Fabulous further solidified her status in the entertainment industry.

Her film career began with a notable debut in the drama Scrubbers in nineteen eighty-two.
