Katie Hobbs

Katie Hobbs, born on December twenty-eighth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a prominent American politician and social worker who has made significant contributions to the state of Arizona. Currently serving as the twenty-fourth governor of Arizona since 2023, Hobbs has a rich history of public service and leadership within the Democratic Party.

Raised in Arizona, Hobbs pursued her education in social work, earning degrees from both Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University. Her political career began in earnest when she was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in two thousand ten, followed by her election to the Arizona Senate in two thousand twelve. During her tenure, she held the position of Senate minority leader from two thousand fifteen to two thousand nineteen.

In two thousand eighteen, Hobbs was elected as Arizona's Secretary of State, a role she held until two thousand twenty-three. Her leadership and dedication to public service culminated in her victory in the two thousand twenty-two Arizona gubernatorial election, where she narrowly defeated Republican nominee Kari Lake, further solidifying her influence in state politics.
