Kay Ivey

Since 2017, she has held the esteemed position of the fifty-fourth governor of Alabama, marking her as a trailblazer in the state's history.

A member of the Republican Party, Ivey's political career began with her tenure as the thirty-eighth Alabama state treasurer from two thousand three to two thousand eleven. Following this role, she served as the thirtieth lieutenant governor of Alabama from two thousand eleven until two thousand seventeen, showcasing her dedication to public service.

Ivey ascended to the governorship following the resignation of her predecessor, Robert J. Bentley, becoming Alabama's second female governor.
