Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Kaykhusraw I

Kaykhusraw I, known as Ghiyāth ad-Dīn Kaykhusraw ibn Kilij Arslān, was born in the year one thousand one hundred seventy-seven. He was the youngest of eleven sons of Kilij Arslan II and ascended to the position of Seljuk Sultan of Rûm in the year one thousand one hundred ninety-two.

His reign, however, was marked by internal strife as he faced significant challenges from his brothers in the quest for control over the Sultanate. In one thousand one hundred ninety-six, he lost a critical power struggle to his brother Suleiman II, which led to a brief interruption in his rule.

Despite this setback, Kaykhusraw I returned to power and ruled again from one thousand two hundred five until one thousand two hundred eleven. His leadership during these tumultuous times was pivotal in shaping the political landscape of the region.
