Following the Communist victory in the Laotian Civil War, Kaysone emerged as the de facto leader of Laos in nineteen seventy-five, a position he held until his death. His leadership was marked by significant political changes and the establishment of a new government structure.
He was appointed as the first Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, serving from nineteen seventy-five to nineteen ninety-one. Subsequently, he took on the role of the second President from nineteen ninety-one until his death in nineteen ninety-two.
