Kazimierz Lipień, born on February sixth, nineteen forty-nine, was a distinguished featherweight Greco-Roman wrestler hailing from Poland. His remarkable career saw him compete in three Olympic Games: in nineteen seventy-two, he secured a third-place finish; in nineteen seventy-six, he achieved the pinnacle of success with a gold medal; and in nineteen eighty, he placed sixth. Over the span of his career, Lipień amassed an impressive collection of twelve medals at world and European championships, including five prestigious golds between nineteen seventy-one and nineteen seventy-nine.

Growing up in a large family, Kazimierz was one of seven siblings, with his twin brother Józef also making a name for himself as an Olympic Greco-Roman wrestler. After graduating from a technical school in nineteen seventy-two, he furthered his education by obtaining a coaching degree in Warsaw in nineteen eighty. This foundation set the stage for his future endeavors in the sport.

In nineteen eighty-one, Lipień relocated to Sweden, where he continued to excel in wrestling, winning three national titles—two in Greco-Roman wrestling in nineteen eighty-one and nineteen eighty-five, and one in freestyle wrestling in nineteen eighty-two. For a decade, he dedicated himself to training wrestlers at various clubs, sharing his expertise and passion for the sport.

Returning to Poland in nineteen ninety-one, Kazimierz took on the role of head coach for the national junior wrestling team, contributing to the development of future generations of wrestlers. He was married to Antonina and was a proud father to two sons, Peter and Jacob. Tragically, Lipień passed away in the United States, leaving behind a legacy of excellence in wrestling.
