Kazuo Nakamura

Kazuo Nakamura, born on October thirteenth, nineteen twenty-six, is a distinguished painter and a pivotal figure in the Canadian art scene. As a founding member of the Toronto-based Painters Eleven group in the 1950s, he played a crucial role in shaping the direction of modern art in Canada.

Among the first major Japanese Canadian artists to emerge in the twentieth century, Nakamura is celebrated for his innovative landscape paintings and abstract compositions.
