Keith Acton, born on April fifteenth, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. His impressive career spanned fifteen seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), where he showcased his skills with several teams, including the Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, and New York Islanders from nineteen eighty to nineteen ninety-four.

After his playing days, Acton transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant coach for various NHL teams. His coaching journey included tenures with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and most recently, the Edmonton Oilers. However, his time with the Oilers came to an end when he and fellow assistant Craig Ramsay were released on June fourth, two thousand fifteen.

In addition to his hockey career, Acton ventured into politics, running for mayor of Whitchurch-Stouffville in the two thousand eighteen elections. His diverse experiences in both sports and public service reflect his commitment to his community and the game he loves.
