Keith Beavers, born on February ninth, nineteen eighty-three, is a distinguished backstroke and medley swimmer hailing from Canada. He made his mark on the international stage by representing his country at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens, Greece. His prowess in the pool was further highlighted in two thousand six when he set a new record in the 200-metre backstroke at the Pan Pacific Trials, clocking in at one minute and fifty-eight point ninety-seven seconds.
Raised in London, Ontario, and later in Orangeville, Ontario, Keith's swimming journey began at the tender age of six with the Orangeville Otters Swim Club. After two years, he transitioned to the Dorado Stars Swim Club, where he honed his skills for several years. His dedication and talent culminated in his qualification for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed in both the 200-metre backstroke and the 400-metre individual medley, ultimately finishing seventh in the individual medley final.
After a successful swimming career, Beavers announced his retirement from international competition. He has since taken on a new role as a coach in Kingston, where he leads the Kingston Blue Marlins (KBM). His commitment to sports continued as he pursued higher education, earning a Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo in two thousand nine, followed by a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen's University in two thousand thirteen. Today, he is a practicing physiotherapist in Kingston, Ontario, contributing to the health and well-being of his community.
