Kelly Armstrong

Kelly Armstrong, born on October eighth, nineteen seventy-six, is a prominent American lawyer and politician who has been serving as the thirty-fourth governor of North Dakota since two thousand twenty-four. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, Armstrong previously represented North Dakota's at-large congressional district in the U.S. House from two thousand nineteen until two thousand twenty-four.

Raised in North Dakota, Armstrong's political career began in the state legislature, where he served as a state senator for the thirty-sixth district from two thousand twelve to two thousand eighteen. During this time, he also held the position of chair of the North Dakota Republican Party from two thousand fifteen to two thousand eighteen, showcasing his leadership within the party.

In January of two thousand twenty-four, Armstrong made a strategic decision to not seek reelection to the House, opting instead to run for governor in the upcoming gubernatorial election. His campaign was successful, as he won the Republican primary on June eleventh, two thousand twenty-four, and subsequently defeated Democratic nominee Merrill Piepkorn in the general election.

As of February two thousand twenty-six, Armstrong has gained recognition for his leadership, being ranked as the ninth-most popular governor in the United States, with an impressive approval rating of sixty percent according to Morning Consult.
