Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Kelvin Kiptum

Kelvin Kiptum, born on December second, nineteen ninety-nine, emerged as a remarkable talent in the world of long-distance running. He was a Kenyan athlete who not only captivated audiences with his speed but also made history by setting the current marathon world record. His extraordinary performances placed him at the pinnacle of men's marathon running, where he was ranked first globally at the time of his untimely death.

Throughout his career, Kiptum showcased his exceptional abilities by winning all three marathons he participated in, including two prestigious World Marathon Majors between December twenty-two and October twenty-three. His remarkable times in these races were among the fastest ever recorded, with each marathon completed in under two hours and two minutes, setting course records that left spectators in awe.

His journey began with a stunning debut at the 2022 Valencia Marathon, where he became the fastest-ever marathon debutant, breaking the two-hour and two-minute barrier and achieving the then fourth-quickest time in history. Just four months later, he continued to impress by clocking in at two hours, one minute, and twenty-five seconds at the 2023 London Marathon, just sixteen seconds shy of the world record.

In October twenty-three, Kiptum achieved the unthinkable by breaking the world record at the Chicago Marathon with a time of two hours, zero minutes, and thirty-five seconds. This remarkable feat was ratified by World Athletics on February sixth, twenty-four, just five days before his tragic death in a car crash on February eleventh, twenty-four, in Kaptagat, Kenya, where he had been training.
