Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Kemi Badenoch

Kemi Badenoch, born on January second, nineteen eighty, is a prominent British politician and author who has made significant strides in her political career. Since November twenty twenty-four, she has held the esteemed positions of Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party. Badenoch's political journey began when she was elected as the Member of Parliament for North West Essex in twenty seventeen, after previously contesting a seat in the London Assembly in two thousand twelve.

Her early political career saw her become a member of the London Assembly in two thousand fifteen, following the election of Victoria Borwick as an MP. A staunch supporter of Brexit during the two thousand sixteen referendum, Badenoch's commitment to her party was further solidified when she was elected to the House of Commons in the subsequent general election. Under Boris Johnson's leadership, she was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families in July two thousand nineteen.

In February twenty twenty, Badenoch's role expanded as she became Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Equalities. Her ascent continued with her promotion to Minister of State for Equalities and Minister of State for Local Government, Faith and Communities in September twenty twenty-one. However, in July twenty twenty-two, she resigned from her government position in protest against Johnson's leadership and subsequently ran unsuccessfully to replace him in the party leadership election.

Following Liz Truss's appointment as Prime Minister in September twenty twenty-two, Badenoch was appointed Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade. She was later reappointed by Rishi Sunak, taking on the additional role of Minister for Women and Equalities. In February twenty twenty-three, she transitioned to Secretary of State for Business and Trade, while retaining her responsibilities as Women and Equalities Minister.

After the Conservative Party's defeat in the twenty twenty-four general election, Badenoch was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government. She later launched her bid for the Conservative Party leadership in the twenty twenty-four election, ultimately defeating Robert Jenrick in the members' ballot to become the party leader and Leader of the Opposition.
