Ken Sugimori

Ken Sugimori, born on January twenty-seventh, nineteen sixty-six, is a prominent figure in the world of video game design and illustration. As a co-founder of Game Freak alongside Satoshi Tajiri, Sugimori has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of gaming, particularly through his work on the Pokémon franchise.

Best known as the primary character designer and art director for Pokémon, Sugimori's artistic vision brought to life the original one hundred fifty-one Pokémon, each with its unique charm and personality. His contributions extend beyond Pokémon, as he also provided art direction for other notable titles, including Pulseman.

In addition to his design work, Sugimori has co-directed several key Pokémon games, such as Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, and Black and White. His influence is also felt in various Pokémon films and trading cards, as well as in the Super Smash Bros. series, showcasing his versatility and creativity across multiple platforms.
