Kent Nielsen

Kent Nielsen, born on December twenty-eighth, nineteen sixty-one, is a distinguished Danish football manager and former player, currently serving as the head coach of Silkeborg. His coaching prowess was recognized in two thousand fourteen when he was honored as Coach of the Year by the Danish Football Association, following a remarkable season where he led AaB to victory in both the Danish Superliga and the Danish Cup.

Nielsen's coaching journey began as a caretaker manager at AGF, but it was his tenure at AC Horsens that marked a significant turning point in his career. Under his guidance, the club achieved promotion to the top-flight Superliga championship in two thousand five. His experience also includes managing other notable Superliga clubs such as Brøndby and OB, and he holds the record for the most games managed in the Danish Superliga.

As a player, Nielsen was a formidable centre back, contributing to his teams with both skill and leadership. He celebrated two Danish championships and a Danish Cup trophy during his time with Brøndby IF. His career also took him to England, where he played for Aston Villa for three years before concluding his playing days after winning the Danish Cup with AGF. On the international stage, he represented the Denmark national team in fifty-four matches, scoring three goals and playing a pivotal role in their triumph at the Euro nineteen ninety-two championship.
