Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Ketanji Brown Jackson

Ketanji Brown Jackson, born on September fourteenth, nineteen seventy, is a distinguished American lawyer and jurist currently serving as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Nominated by President Joe Biden on February twenty-fifth, twenty twenty-two, she made history as the first Black woman and the first former federal public defender to hold this esteemed position, becoming the sixth woman to serve on the Court.

Raised in Miami, Florida, Jackson's academic journey took her to Harvard University, where she not only completed her undergraduate and legal education but also contributed as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Her legal career includes clerking for Justice Stephen Breyer, whose seat she later filled on the Supreme Court. Jackson's commitment to justice was further demonstrated during her tenure as vice chairwoman of the United States Sentencing Commission from two thousand ten to two thousand fourteen.

In two thousand thirteen, President Barack Obama appointed her as a district judge for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. She continued to rise through the ranks, being elevated by President Biden to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in twenty twenty-one, a position she held until her Supreme Court confirmation in twenty twenty-two. Additionally, Jackson served on the Harvard Board of Overseers from two thousand sixteen to two thousand twenty-two.

Alongside fellow justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, Jackson is recognized as a key figure in the Court's liberal wing, advocating for progressive values and justice in her judicial decisions.
