Kevin Bieksa

Kevin Bieksa, born on June sixteenth, nineteen eighty-one, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey player and a prominent television personality. Known for his tenure as a defenceman, Bieksa made a significant impact in the National Hockey League, primarily with the Vancouver Canucks, before concluding his playing career with the Anaheim Ducks.

His journey began in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, where he played for the Burlington Cougars. Bieksa's talent earned him a scholarship to Bowling Green State University, where he showcased his skills on the ice and in the classroom. During his four years with the Falcons in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, he was recognized as a one-time All-CCHA honourable mention and achieved two-time CCHA All-Academic honourable mention status in two thousand three and two thousand four, graduating with a bachelor's degree in finance.

In the two thousand one NHL entry draft, Bieksa was selected one hundred fifty-first overall by the Vancouver Canucks. He began his professional career with the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League, where he earned AHL All-Rookie Team honours in his first full season. Bieksa became a regular member of the Canucks during the two thousand five to two thousand six season, known for his physical and aggressive two-way play.

Internationally, Bieksa represented Canada at the two thousand fourteen World Championship, where he served as team captain and was named one of the top three players for his country. He also participated in the two thousand eighteen Spengler Cup, marking his second appearance representing Canada.
